Relentless Forgiveness
Christ has died once for all! Those who are in debt for their sins respond to this one of three ways: resentment and denial/doing all one can to live up to this and pay it back to feel a sense of self-accomplishment or to put oneself on par with the Forgiver/respond in obedience and love. The latter will feel like a raging fire at times as we carry around this death of Christ in us, taking our sins to the cross and being forgiven; when such forgiveness is comprehended, it is as hot coals thrown on our hearts. Yes, we have separated ourselves from God and yes, blood is shed for it. But Christ’s blood is sufficient. On His grace we not only die, but we live and He makes us stand, unshaken, as we also carry Christ’s resurrection in us. It is this relentless fogiveness His people respond to and it should equip us with humility, boldness, confidence in Him, love for others and contentment as we grow to know Him more and more through His Word and prayer.
